Money as an input as well as an output

In a job, money is always just the reward, so of course the temptation is always to spend it. You put work in and you get money out. Money is only an output: you put in hours working, and you get back money. But you can’t use that money as an input: you can’t invest some of your salary this week to increase your salary next week.

You can’t use money as an input, or control what you earn to any real extent. Once you get out of a job though, money can start to become something else altogether.
